Pirates beat Texas 7-5

After having Monday off, the Pittsburgh Pirates came home to Pittsburgh and got off to a great start in the early innings and holding on late to beat the Texas Rangers 7-5. The Pirates got a lead off home run from Jose Bautista(5) and 3 runs in the first inning to help get struggling starter Zach Duke off to a good start. Duke(3-6) pitched well getting the win, especially early getting the Rangers to hit into a double play the first 4 innings, the Pirates pulled 5 double plays in all. The bullpen was shaky but Matt Capps ended up getting the save(3). Xavier Nady(11) and Adam LaRoche(8) also hit homers. Kevin Millwood(2-6) took the loss for the Rangers. The Pirates are now 27-37 and 7 games back of the Milwaukee Brewers who got no-hit by Justin Verlander and the Detroit Tigers 4-0. Verlander's no-hitter was the first in Comerica Park history in Detroit.
