Pirates Shutout 7-0 in Seattle
When I looked at the pitching matchups for Wednesday I thought the Pirates should win this game. Yes Paul Maholm who hadnt exactly pitched well this season, but Jeff Weaver was on the mound for the Mariners and he was 0-6 with a 10.97 ERA. Well, Jeff Weaver went out and pitched a 4-hit shutout, going all 9 innings and improving to 1-6 and a 8.56 ERA. Paul Maholm went 7 innings giving up 9 hits, 6 runs(4 earned), his record is now 3-10 with a 5.01 ERA. Richie Sexson(12) hit another home-run and so did Raul Ibanez(5). The Pirates are now 31-40 and 9.5 games back of Milwaukee.
